As part of the milestone 15th edition of the international fashion event Premio Moda® in Matera, the brand Paduri presented its solo fashion show entitled The Code: Barili, designed by Milica Bainović-Jović, on July 10th.

The runway show opened the event's evening program. On this occasion, Milica Bainović-Jović expressed her gratitude to the organizers of Premio Moda® and Artistic Director Enzo Centonze for their trust, as well as to the CC4WBs program for supporting the Paduri per Premio Moda® Serbia Edition project, which provided international backing and a strong impulse for further development.

A Collection Inspired by Milena Pavlović Barili

The new Paduri collection was created as an homage to one of the most prominent Serbian artists, Milena Pavlović Barili. The inspiration stemmed not only from her artwork, but also from her inner world, her poetic mindset, and her sense of belonging to home, beautifully captured in her words:

"Nowhere is the sky as beautiful as it is from my backyard at night."

This very thought served as the starting point for the entire collection.

Floral motifs, meticulously brought to life through hand embroidery, depict the garden as a sanctuary of memories, tenderness, and creation, while delicate star patterns symbolize the night sky above that imagined yard, a place from which Milena observed the world and found her inspiration. Each piece carries a fragment of that story, seamlessly blending art, emotion, and contemporary design.

Natural Materials and Artisanal Heritage

The core of the collection was crafted from wool and cashmere, enriched with lavish hand embroidery and details made using traditional textile techniques. Once again, Paduri remained true to its core philosophy: creating modern fashion by uniting luxurious natural fabrics with Serbian artisanal heritage.

Handmade knitwear, embroidery, and carefully crafted textile details were utilized not merely as decoration, but as storytellers conveying the narrative behind every single garment.

An Encounter with Brigitte Bardot

Alongside the collection inspired by Milena Pavlović Barili, the show featured a special piece dedicated to Brigitte Bardot, the central theme of this year's Premio Moda®.

This design was created in collaboration with the domestic brand Arte & Bellezza, known for its handcrafted leather bags with sculptural forms and supreme craftsmanship. While Arte & Bellezza shaped striking fashion accessories and a leather skirt, Paduri selected silk as a natural and luxurious material for this creation, achieving harmony between two distinct traditions of craftsmanship and contemporary design. This collaboration demonstrated how fashion can serve as a meeting point for different creative expressions.

An Evening Representing Serbia on the International Stage

The runway presentation of The Code: Barili was much more than a fashion show; it was a story of art, identity, and cultural craftsmanship told through modern design to an international audience in the unique setting of Matera.

The event drew significant attention from guests and media alike, with Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) reporting on the festival and the participation of Serbian designers, highlighting the project's importance for promoting the local fashion scene.

For Paduri, Matera was not just a venue, it was proof that authenticity, handcraft, and cultural heritage firmly belong on the international fashion stage. The Code: Barili marks the continuation of the brand's mission to preserve and reinterpret tradition through contemporary design, paving the way for new international collaborations and future projects.
